Working Principle and Product Performance of Centrifugal Mud Pump
In the water pump industry, there is a centrifugal mud pump. But in fact, from the physical principle, the mud pump itself belongs to a kind of centrifugal pump, and centrifugal mud pump from the industry interpretation, usually refers to: It is a kind of machinery that through the use of centrifugal force (the rotation of the pump impeller) to increase the energy of solid-liquid mixture, converting electrical energy into kinetic energy and potential energy of the medium. Therefore, the name of centrifugal mud pump is a centrifugal pump divided from the perspective of conveying medium.
Working principle of centrifugal mud pump:
The commonly used centrifugal mud pump is piston type or plunger type. The power machine drives the crankshaft of the pump to rotate, and the crankshaft drives the piston or plunger to do reciprocating movement in the pump cylinder through the crosshead. Under the alternate action of the suction and discharge valves, the purpose of pressure delivery and circulation of flushing fluid is realized. Mud pump is to wash the surface of the medium – clean water, mud or polymer flushing fluid, under a certain pressure, through the high-pressure hose, faucet and the center hole of drill pipe string directly to the bottom of the drill bit, so as to achieve the purpose of cooling the drill bit, removing the cuttings and transporting them to the surface.
Product performance of centrifugal mud pump:
Two main parameters of centrifugal mud pump are displacement and pressure. The displacement is calculated as several liters per minute, which is related to the diameter of the borehole and the required velocity of the flushing fluid from the bottom of the hole. That is, the larger the borehole diameter is, the greater the displacement required. It is required that the upward and backward velocity of the flushing fluid can wash the cuttings and rock powder cut by the drill bit out of the borehole bottom in time and carry them to the surface reliably. In geological core drilling, the upward velocity is generally about 0.4-1m/min.
